In honor of its forthcoming Prime Day shopping extravaganza, Amazon released a new commercial song that takes us back to the 80s.
Amazon’s annual shopping event expected to begin next week on Tuesday, July 12, and end the following day. With its commercial seen to send viewers back to the 1980s.
A mystery singer outlines the many goods available at the shopping event as he performs amongst a fog-covered floor outfitted with neon lights across the online retailer’s advertisement.

The music featured in the 2022 Amazon Prime Day commercial song promo is Get Into My Cart, a new song by Jon Batiste. In the commercial, Jon worries about all the things he needs, and at one point, he transforms into an 80s star and begins singing the song’s dedicated lyrics.
Then he starts making a list of everything he’s going to buy, losing himself in the joy of shopping. Finally, he explicitly tells us that prime day is July 12th and 13th, 2022. It’s a hilarious commercial, and the song does its dirty work.
When is the Prime day? I need to know. When is the Prime day? So many things to buy. Get into my cart. Get out of my dreams.
It makes perfect sense that people like it.
Get Outta My Dreams, Get in My Car by Billy Ocean, a smash single from 1988, serves as the soundtrack for the Prime Day promo.
While Jon Batiste’s version changes the lyrics to highlight the prices available during the Prime Day event, the 1988 song’s famous melody is still sung with ‘cart’ instead of ‘car.’
According to RollingStone, Batiste worked on the tune with numerous artists and was enthused about having an “amazing music experience” while working on it.
Amazon’s new commercial singer, Jon Batiste
Jon Batiste is an up-and-coming music sensation born into a family of skilled musicians.
The Batiste family is well-known in the music industry, with the vocalist learning to play the drums and piano as a child. He was also a member of his family band, the Batiste Brothers, where he played the drums from age eight.
Batiste has carried on his family’s musical history and is himself a Grammy award-winning performer, having earned five at this year’s 64th Grammy Awards.
Similarly, Batiste received an Oscar for best achievement. In music written for motion films in 2021 for his work on Disney’s Soul.
Likewise, Jon Batiste will make his feature film acting debut. In the adaption of the Broadway musical The Color Purple next year. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the picture will be released in December 2023.
