According to TMZ, friend actor Mike Hagerty died from the side effects of antibiotics. Hagerty was admitted to the hospital shortly after recuperating from a leg infection in April. However, he had recovered, but he was still tired and didn’t feel 100 percent.
The prescribed antibiotics caused him to have a seizure, which led to a coma. Hagerty died on May 5th in Los Angeles at the age of 67. Bridgett Everett, a co-star of “Somebody Somewhere,” revealed his death on Instagram.
“With great sadness, the family of Michael G. Hagerty announced his death yesterday in Los Angeles. A beloved character actor, his love of his hometown of Chicago and his family were the cornerstones of his life,” Everett wrote.
Mike, a devoted husband, and a family man are survived by his wife Mary Kathryn, his sister Mary Ann Hagerty, her wife Kathleen O’Rourke, and their daughter Meg. He will be sorely missed.
Similarly, Hagerty was noted for playing blue-collar characters and was well known for his recurrent role as building superintendent Mr. Treeger on “Friends.” Hagerty was prepared to film Season 2 of the HBO sitcom “Somebody Somewhere” before returning to the hospital. Furthermore, Hagerty has also been on “Seinfeld,” “Glee,” “Boston Legal,” “Cheers,” “CSI,” and other shows over his acting career.
