Since the premiere of the Amazon Prime Video series ‘The Wilds,’ it has successfully earned a name as one of the best survivalist series on the platform. Now they are coming back with The Wilds Season 2.
The famous series dropped its first season in the fall of 2020 with ten episodes that massively entertained the viewers and received positive reviews from critics, praising the writing, plot’ and performances.
Similarly, the series was renewed for a second season which recently premiered on May 6, 2022.
A summary of The Wilds season 1
The series pivots around many teenage girls abandoned on a deserted island after a plane crash but are unaware of the pre-planned misfortune as they are the subjects of a social experiment.
Fatin Jadmani, Dot Campbell, Martha Blackburn, Rachel Reid, Shelby Godkind, Nora Reid, Toni Shalifoe, and Leah Rilke are on an airplane to Hawaii for the Dawn of Eve program, a young women’s empowerment retreat, when it suddenly crashes into the ocean.
They survive the crash and find themselves stranded on a deserted island as the girls work to survive as castaways and learn about each other. However, they are unaware of the circumstance as they are subjects of a social experiment.

The plane crash was directed, and their stranding was staged by Gretchen Klein, the head of the Dawn of Eve program. Gretchen is executing psychological experimentation to see her dreams of a “Gynotopia” come to life, where females create their society unburdened by the patriarchy.
However, she’s also running it unethically by forcing eight unsuspecting female teens who did not sign up for all this trauma into a life-or-death situation.
The group is forced to survive for 23 stranded days on an island. Soon Leah begins to figure some of it out on the island by scooping Nora as a double agent. It was her who apparently knows something about the conspiracy. But their confrontation takes a drastic turn as a shark attacks Nora’s sister Rachel.
The girls’ adventures on the island are intercut with flashback scenes. Their lives before the crash are depicted to give us an idea about the context. Additionally, flashforward scenes where two men claiming to be FBI agents interview the survivors after their supposed rescue.

What to expect in the second season of THE WILD
The ending of a jaw-dropping season of The Wilds was spectacular and left the viewers with a lot of excitement for its next season.
In the season’s finale, Leah (Sarah Pidgeon) connects the dot of their stranded journey. She discovers surveillance footage of an all-male group called the Twilight of Adam. She learns that they went through exactly what she just survived with the Dawn of Eve.
The Wilds Season two recently premiered on the Amazon Prime Video, and it will be spectacular to witness how the group of girls will navigate their way out of the experiment.
