Similarly, Xochitl’s biggest film is her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, easily making her a household name. However, before her big break in the movie industry, she was able to pave her path in Hollywood.
Gomez appeared in the Netflix series The Baby-Sitters Club as Dawn Shafer. The show was based on the children’s novel series of the same title by writer Ann M. Martin. Similarly, Gomez was awarded with a Young Entertainer Award for her role in The Baby-Sitters Club.
Likewise, she also won a Young Artist Award for her performance in the 2019 action film Shadow Wolves and was awarded a New York Film, and London Independent Film Award.
Her role in the short film Boob Sweat, a story about a trio of girls in the 1970s who make it their mission to kiss the coolest 7th-grade boys was loved by fans and critics alike.

Gomez revealed that she “literally froze” in disbelief when she got the astonishing news of making it as Marvel’s latest superhero America Chavez. The Mexican-American teen actress further shared, “It took me a couple of weeks to realize I got cast, and my mom and dad were so excited. We got a cake to celebrate.”
Xochitl Gomez also shared her love for her new character sketch in the movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. She shared, “I feel like America represents so much in the MCU,” says Gomez. “I’m excited for the world to meet America Chavez because she’s a powerful, smart, charismatic, queer Latina, and the fact that Marvel brought her from the comics to the MCU is really exciting.”
